Spike Logic is a precision metabolic tracking app designed to optimize muscle protein synthesis timing. Instead of counting calories or macros, the app focuses on one question: when is your next anabolic window open?
The app tracks protein synthesis triggers based on protein absorption speed and leucine thresholds, helping you time your meals for maximum muscle building efficiency.
MPS is the process your body uses to build and repair muscle tissue. It's triggered when you consume enough leucine (an essential amino acid) to cross a biological threshold, typically around 3 grams.
These are absorption tiers based on how quickly your protein source is digested. RAPID (whey isolate) triggers synthesis fastest, STEADY (lean meats, poultry, egg whites) is the baseline, and EXTENDED (whole eggs, fatty meats, mixed meals) absorbs slowest. Each tier has different synthesis durations and efficiency multipliers.
eMPS stands for Effective Muscle Protein Synthesis time. It's a normalized measure of your daily muscle building time that accounts for absorption speed. RAPID meals earn 1.5x time, STEADY earns 1.0x (baseline), and EXTENDED earns 0.7x. This reflects the varying efficiency of different protein sources.
After each synthesis period, your muscle receptors enter a "reload" phase where they become temporarily less sensitive to leucine. This refractory period typically lasts about 1 hour. The app shows you a countdown until your window reopens.
All your meal data and profile information is stored locally on your device. Spike Logic does not transmit personal health data to external servers. Your information stays on your phone.
The eMPS odometer and daily spike count automatically reset at midnight each day. Your meal history is preserved and can be viewed on the History screen.
